Congressman Hon. Bro.John Lewis has dedicated his life to protecting human rights, serving civil liberties and building what he calls "The Beloved Community" in America.  As a student at Fisk University he organized sit-in demonstrations, participated in the Freedom Rides, and was named Chairman of the Students Nonviolent Coordinating Committee.  Bro. Lewis was a major contributor of the Civil Right Movement, elected to Congress in 1986, and has served as United States Representative of Georgia's Fifth Congressional District since then.
